A Word About COVID...
While Charleston and the United States cautiously continue to emerge from COVID 19 isolation, it was not that long ago that the pandemic brought everything to a standstill. Artists were among those particularly hard hit as galleries closed for many months and income was lost.
During those tumultuous months, the South Carolina Arts Commission and The National Endowment for the Arts provided greatly appreciated financial support. Also during the pandemic, my ongoing work was funded in part by a generous award from the South Carolina Artists Relief Fund of the South Carolina Arts Foundation. I thank them for their support.

Charleston's French Quarter Art Walks
Charleston Art Walks are held in the historic French Quarter on the first Friday of March, May, October and December from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. They are free and open to the public.
Charleston's French Quarter is located within the original walled city that was founded by the French Huguenots. The Art Walk is the showcase of downtown Charleston's thriving art scene.

Spoleto and Piccolo Spoleto Festivals
The 2022 Spoleto Festival USA ran from May 27 - June 12 in Charleston, South Carolina. Dates for 2023 have not yet been published but the festival traditionally opens on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend.
It has become an exciting and stimulating destination for traditional and experimental artists of dance, theater, opera, music, and the visual arts.
Charleston's 2023 Piccolo Spoleto Festival will run concurrently downtown. I plan to participate again in 2023, where my work will be on display in Marion Square for the Piccolo Spoleto Juried Outdoor Fine Arts Exhibit. Art exhibit hours are from 10 AM to 5 PM Monday through Thursday, and 10 AM to 6 PM Friday through Sunday, rain or shine.
